Book with confidence

Book with Confidence - we have teamed up with Master Cancel.

Master Cancel will allow you to cancel your booking, for any reason*, between 60 and 2 days before you are due to arrive and receive a full 100% refund.

Now valid on all new bookings with an arrival date after 1st August 2020.

Includes Covid19 and Area Lockdowns - (from Dec 2020 subject to bookings that conform to Government regulations prevailing at the time of booking)

FOR BOOKINGS PLACED BEFORE 08 JANUARY 2021 (HOLIDAYS CAN BE ANY TIME IN 2021 OR 2022)

In these uncertain times, it is reassuring to have flexible cancellation as an option. Book either of our cottages, and you can cancel up to 2 days before the start of your holiday, and get a full refund, and ONLY applies to bookings placed by 08 January 2021 (holidays can be any time in 2021 or 2022).

New bookings must meet the relevant Government Regulations prevailing at the time of booking to qualify.

Please note that this does not replace travel insurance, and does NOT cover you for the last 2 days before arrival, so it is still strongly recommended that you get UK travel insurance (just in case you were unable to travel at the last minute, due to health reasons for example), but it does let you book with confidence.

Please also see this recent December 2020 guide from WHICH for some of the Corona Virus travel insurance options.

  •  No forms to fill in, no doctor’s notes or any evidence required
  •  Simply notify us by email of your cancellation and you will be reimbursed within 7 days of the arrival date of your original booking

FAQ

Can I cancel for any reason?

Yes. You can cancel for any reason within 2-60 days of arrival. There are no forms to fill in, we do not require evidence or doctors notes. We require written notice of cancellation by email from the email address attached to the booking.

What if I cancel within 2 days prior to arrival?

Bookings cancelled within 2 days of arrival are not refundable I’m afraid. For example - if you are arriving on a Monday, you can cancel up to the Saturday. Cancellations on Sunday (day before) or Monday (arrival day) will not be covered by Master Cancel. We require written notice of cancellation by email from the email address attached to the booking. The date and time stamp attached to the email we receive will be provided as evidence of cancellation.

What if I cancel before 60 days prior to arrival?

Cancelling more than 60 days before arrival does not activate Master Cancel. We would recommend waiting for the 60 day cancellation period to start before cancelling your booking.

If I have to cancel what do I get back and when?

When Master Cancel is applied for a cancellation the guest receives 100% of payments made. Refund payments are processed on the departure date of the cancelled booking.

Does this include current bookings?

No Master Cancel is only included for NEW bookings made from 1 August 2020 ,with holiday dates starting from 1 August 2020 (and not include bookings made prior to this date but with amended dates and transferred dates bookings)
Bookings made before this date will have the Terms and Conditions accepted at the time of booking.
This is because this is when we signed up with MasterCancel to provide cover.

I have a Covid-19 voucher code, does Master Cancel cover the new booking?

No sadly not. One of the conditions set by the underwriter is that it is for brand new bookings only, uncompleted bookings which were given voucher codes are not covered by Master Cancel.

Is Covid-19 included?

Yes. Whether it is because you do not want to risk becoming unwell, whether you are isolating or if there is a government area lockdown or lockdown of Troutsdale Farm. Master Cancel will cover this - you can contact us to cancel your booking.

Can I choose not to have Master Cancel?

Master Cancel is valid on all New bookings made from  1 August 2020 with arrival dates after the 1 August 2020 and is  included in the cost of the booking.

Is any scenario not covered by Master Cancel?

*The following instances are not covered by Master Cancel:
War, civil war, invasion of foreign enemies, war-like activities (whether or not there is an actual declaration of war), rebellion, insurrection, civil commotion arising to the level of uprising, military or usurped power;
acts of terrorism committed for political, religious, ideological, or similar purposes; actions intended to prevent any of the above.

From December 2020 Master Cancel changed slightly - and will only cover bookings that conform to Government regulations prevailing at the time of booking.

So if a guest from London (Tier 4) booked today for a holiday at Troutsdale Farm Holidays (on any property with Master Cancel) in (say) January, and at that time London was still in Tier 4, and the guest therefore cancelled, then Master Cancel would not refund the owner the value of the booking, and you would not be covered.

Should I have personal travel insurance for our booking?

We always recommend guests have their own personal travel holiday insurance just as with any standard holiday booking in the UK or overseas. For new bookings taken 1st Aug 2020 we would still recommend personal travel insurance be in place to cover the periods outside of  the Master Cancel protection scheme.

I have a booking that was deferred from this year to a future date, is it covered by Master Cancel?

No, unfortunately not, because the booking was placed prior to the insurance being made available to us on 1 August 2020
This is an insurance regulations rule and it’s not possible to add the cover onto these bookings. If a voucher is used to book a holiday, which was issued as part of the cancellation of a holiday booked prior to 10th June 2020 or the original holiday date was prior to 1st August 2020,
Master Cancel is not able to be offered on that holiday.

Bookings made prior to the 1 August 2020 will continue to be covered by the old terms and conditions which will be attached to your booking confirmation.
